Stars Spend a Big Pre-Globes Night Celebrating The Art of Elysium

The Art of Elysium organization hosted their annual Heaven gala Saturday evening in downtown LA.

The Art of Elysium organization hosted their annual Heaven gala Saturday evening in downtown LA. They closed down a traffic tunnel in the city to play host to many of their famous supporters, including honoree David Arquette and many other longtime supporters like Elijah Wood, Busy Philipps, and John Legend. There were plenty of couples who celebrated together the night before the Golden Globes — Ali Larter arrived with husband Hayes MacArthur, John Legend walked with fiancée Chrissy Teigen, Krysten Ritter posed with Brian Geraghty, and Revenge's Ashley Madekwe brought husband Iddo Goldberg. Joe Manganiello, however, was solo posing for photographers.

There was a fashion parade on the gray carpet, too. Kirsten Dunst wore Louis Vuitton and said hello to friends like Jaime King. Rachel Bilson picked a long-sleeved Valentino, and Stacy Keibler donned Carolina Herrera. Another woman who picked a sleeved gown was Julianne Hough, who wore Jenny Packham and spoke about her plans to hit the red carpet at the Globes tomorrow. Her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest will be there as a host, but Julianne revealed she usually preps for award shows with a group of girlfriends and the Ellie Goulding Pandora station on! Busy wore a sparkly LBD and opened up about the new season of Cougar Town, as well as her upcoming big 2013 that'll include the birth of her second child. Busy told us she's obviously excited to be a mom again, but is almost equally excited about Kim and Kanye's baby!

Leonardo DiCaprio Debuts Django in NYC With Cameron Diaz's Support

Leonardo DiCaprio debuted Django Unchained in NYC last night.

Leonardo DiCaprio debuted Django Unchained in NYC last night. Leo was joined by his costars Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as director Quentin Tarantino, on the red carpet. Leo, who is currently filming The Wolf of Wall Street, also celebrated alongside pals Olivia Wilde, John Legend, Liv Tyler, and Cameron Diaz. Leo and Cameron have been seeing a lot of each other lately, as they were spotted celebrating for charity in NYC back in November.

Django's premiere came just ahead of today's SAG nominations. Despite all the award season buzz around the film, it received zero nominations. Nonetheless, early reviews for Django Unchained are excellent. Audiences will get to see Quentin's latest for themselves when it arrives in theaters on Christmas day, Dec. 25.

Ben and Kate: Where You've Seen the Stars, and Why It Matters

New Fox comedy Ben and Kate is about the relationship between a brother and sister (played by Nat Faxon and Dakota Johnson) as well as their friends and family.

New Fox comedy Ben and Kate is about the relationship between a brother and sister (played by Nat Faxon and Dakota Johnson) as well as their friends and family. The cast and showrunners came to TCA today to talk about the series, and seeing them all together reminded me that the cast is full of actors you've probably seen before. Chances are, you've been entertained by them in one way or another, so I'm telling you where the main cast has popped up and why those connections might get you to watch.

  • Nat Faxon: It's likely you've seen Faxon in one of many small roles in comedies like Bad Teacher and Beerfest, but his most recent career success wasn't for acting — he won an Oscar for writing the screenplay for The Descendants. Faxon said that he booked Ben and Kate the day after he won the Academy Award, and he joked that the showrunners wanted an Oscar winner, but "Aaron Sorkin doesn't deliver." He hasn't contributed to any writing for Ben and Kate yet, but series creator Dana Fox said she's trying to get him to warm up to the idea.
  • Dakota Johnson: Johnson comes from Hollywood royalty (her parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and her grandmother is Tippi Hedren), but she's been racking up smaller parts over the last couple of years, most notably in The Social Network (as the Stanford coed who wakes up with Sean Parker) and in The Five-Year Engagement (as Jason Segel's rebound). It sounds like she inherited a solid work ethic; Dana Fox said Johnson is "not afraid to look stupid or silly or ugly" for the show. As for her famous parents, Johnson said she didn't know if they would ever guest star but joked, "This is my show!"
  • Maggie Elizabeth Jones: You may remember Jones's adorable little face from We Bought a Zoo, as Matt Damon's daughter. She's just as cute on Ben and Kate as Kate's daughter, and Faxon said that the cast has to "succumb to the fact that we're not as adorable" as Jones. Her costar Lucy Punch complimented the 8-year-old for being "very naturally funny," while Jones said her costars also make her laugh, but "Nat is the silliest."
  • Lucy Punch: The British comedienne plays BJ, a co-worker of Kate's. On the big screen, Punch has stolen scenes in movies like Bad Teacher, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, and Dinner For Schmucks. Here, she gets to use her real accent, and Punch pointed out that "British comedy tends to be darker and meaner" than American humor, which should come in handy for the character of BJ, who has plenty of borderline rude but funny zingers in the pilot.

2011 MOCA Gala

>> The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles hosted its annual gala on Saturday night, drawing Laura and Kate Mulleavy, Tilda Swinton, Rachel Zoe, Shala Monroque, and event chair Dasha Zhukova.

The evening, curated by the performance artist Marina Abramovic, started with guests being asked to put on a white lab coat before sitting down to dinner; each table, meanwhile, had a live, rotating human head for a centerpiece, with the attached performance artists sitting beneath. Diners were given a list of rules about interacting with the centerpiece, such as, "The centerpiece will observe you. You may observe the centerpiece." and "No touching, feeding, offering drink, or disrespecting the centerpiece."

Debbie Harry was shortly thereafter carried onstage to serenade the crowd with “One Way or Another” and “Heart of Glass.” Postperformance, two life-size nude cakes of Harry and Abramovic were brought out. With a machete, Harry removed her cake's red velvet heart, and then teams of shirtless men descended on the two cakes with meat cleavers, sending toes, breasts, and other various anatomical parts to the different tables on dessert plates.

Not bad for a newbie in the celeb modeling biz.Shot by Jessica Craig-Martin, the famous offspring laugh and play on the concrete steps at NYC's Morimoto restaurant while looking beautifully rough and tough. I quite fancy the abundance of leather jackets and have-to-have bags, but not so much the futuristic tennis shoes. What do you think — want to join in this fun?
