Kim Cattrall is 56 today, and in our opinion, she's as sexy as ever. We're still convinced that she is Samantha Jones (not a bad thing), so it wouldn't be a true birthday celebration without a closer look at her iconic Sex and the City character's wardrobe. Sure, we've salivated over Carrie's city-girl outfits and were smitten with Charlotte's posh Upper East Sider wares, but a lot of the time, it was Samantha Jones's unforgettably sassy style that left a lasting impression. This was one woman who lived for color, statement jewels, oversize hats, and anything else that was particularly eye-catching. We have to admit: Kim knows how to fully commit to a character. She was never afraid to bare more than a little skin and go the distance as Samantha, which is why we're still inspired by her power suits, slinky cocktail dresses, bold costume jewelry, and vixenish heels. In honor of Kim Cattrall's birthday, here are our favorite scene-stealing style moments courtesy of Samantha Jones.
Samantha Jones Brings Father and Daughter Together
Kim Cattrall told the Daily Express that her Sex and the City character Samantha has helped parents and kids open up about sex. One dad even came up to her and thanked her.
"He said, 'You know, you really made it possible for me to talk to my 18-year-old daughter about sex.' That was lovely to hear, because it's a big step for a young girl's dad to be able to say to her, 'You know that episode of Sex and the City . . . that could happen to you, you know.''"
I'm all for anything that breaks down sexual taboos, but what does the hyperactive sex life of a 50-year-old woman have in common with teenagers'? Guess you can meet a guy with the "funkiest tasting spunk" at any age!
If SATC is serious about expanding its franchise, might I suggest Samantha Jones sex-ed videos?

I Want This Wardrobe: Sex and the City Movie
What's better than Mexico? Why, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda in Mexico! Now if only they had filmed in Zihuatanejo during my trip. Oh well, next time. It's no surprise that the Fab four brightened the already-colorful background of their hot locale by wearing gorgeous swimsuits and cover-ups. Some of their outfit choices, mainly Samantha's, were too extreme for the average gal, but if you're a part of Sex and the City, you're anything but average. Oh, and if you want to know what they're cracking up about, go see the movie.

I Want This Wardrobe: Sex and the City Movie
In case you've been MIA, the whole Sugar gang finally saw the Sex and the City movie. But don't worry, I'm not going to utter a word about the story line. What I am going to open my trap about are the wardrobes of the fabulous foursome, courtesy of Patricia Field. Almost all of Carrie's outfits were dead on and gush worthy, but it was a little strange to see Miranda always dressed up and accessorized. I guess she's grown up and now appreciates fashion! Because I'm Fab, I was instantly able to identify what each character was wearing as soon as I saw it. Not! Let's just say I have friends in high places who were amazing enough to share their wealth of wardrobe knowledge. And what an excessive amount of wealth it is — dive in!
