Channeling Brazilian Bombshell

Just one word describes our reaction when we see Gisele radiating carefree glamour in this Versace dress: wowsa.

Just one word describes our reaction when we see Gisele radiating carefree glamour in this Versace dress: wowsa. It inspired numerous trips to the gym as well as today’s Fab countdown outfit. Who doesn't want to look like a Brazilian bombshell on one of the biggest party nights of the year? The key element is an ultra sexy, sparkly minidress, accessorized with a box clutch and dangly earrings. It's the dead of Winter, so add a luxe faux fur jacket and go for platform booties to keep warm! Tip: try shimmery blue eye shadow to complete the look.

Do You Think Being a Supermodel Is a Real Job?

Some of you roll your eyes when you hear another supermodel fretting about her job.

Some of you roll your eyes when you hear another supermodel fretting about her job. I mean, what else does she have to do other than to look pretty, right? Paulina Porizkova writes in the Huffington Post:

But unlike those other gifts also allotted at birth: talent, strength, wit or intelligence --which you have to cultivate to fully develop before you reap rewards-- beauty is instant. Just add water, and boom, you can get lots of extra attention from people, and later, you can become a model, a stripper, a girlfriend of someone famous or a TV personality.

Paulina says the supermodel career is commonly seen as a "shallow calling," but it's really not fair because models are just capitalizing on their natural talent. After all, would you consider it shallow for J.K. Rowling to take advantage of her knack for storytelling? I imagine being a model is no easy job — having the constant limelight on you can be very stressful. The pressure to be thin and catty co-workers makes modeling a lot tougher than it seems.

healthy living

Cindy Crawford Is Fabulous and Over 40!

While her heyday may have been in the '90s, at 44, supermodel Cindy Crawford is no chopped liver.

While her heyday may have been in the '90s, at 44, supermodel Cindy Crawford is no chopped liver. She looks incredibly youthful and can still rock a bikini. Cindy recently joked with Us Magazine that her secret to looking good is all "smoke and mirrors." While a cute LBD and a pair of Spanx might help some, there's no mistaking that Cindy is the real deal when it comes to living a healthy life.

"It's a combination of a lot of things. I don't smoke, I don't take too much sun on my face — all those things. If you keep doing them enough over the years, they add up."

Cindy also shares that she doesn't diet. Instead, she's just learned to eat healthy over the last 20 years: "I'm never off the wagon, so I never have to get back on the wagon. I think it's about maintaining a healthy body weight."

This mom of two looks amazing and I love her confident outlook. I hope I'm looking that good when I reach the 40-year-old mark!

Amber Valletta in Silver Oscar de la Renta: Love It or Hate It?

The World Oceans Day celebration brought out a gaggle of well-dressed women to the Hudson Terrace in NYC.

The World Oceans Day celebration brought out a gaggle of well-dressed women to the Hudson Terrace in NYC. Supermodel and now-designer Amber Valletta attended the fête wearing a strapless silver Oscar de la Renta Resort 2010 dress that has an interesting origami detail on the skirt. In an attempt to toughen the look up, she paired it with black peep-toe booties with pearl detail. Her black-satin clutch and rhinestone necklace spice her up some more. What do you think — did it all come together beautifully or did it fall flat?

Fab Ad: Escada Spring/Summer '08

Just when you thought the supermodels of the '90s have long retired, they come back in beautiful ads for top designer brands.

Just when you thought the supermodels of the '90s have long retired, they come back in beautiful ads for top designer brands. Christy Turlington is the latest poster gal for Escada's Spring/Summer '08 collection. Zooming in on her flawless skin and slender bod, it's hard to believe she's a mother of two.

Her high-fashion poses, however, reveal her extensive experience in the industry. Maybe America's Next Top Model contestants can learn a thing or two from the veteran model. I love the simplicity of the background against the vibrancy of the clothes and bags. Christy is the perfect choice for these ads because she doesn't fade into the background, she also doesn't overpower the clothes. What do you think?
