We have a lot to thank Emily Mariko for. From her viral salmon rice recipe to sweet treats like frozen grapes and chocolate-covered dates, the content creator keeps TikTok feeds filled with delicious, yet attainable, recipes. Just like everyone else, she spent a lot of time watching content creators, which actually inspired her own journey. She tells PS, "After years and years of watching, I got the courage to start posting myself."

During the height of COVID lockdown, Mariko spent more time in the kitchen, eventually leading her to get more creative with her meals. "I really go based on what I'm craving that day or what's in season," she says. "I kind of just listen to my body, listen to what I want to eat, and then have fun in the kitchen and try to experiment and come up with something good."

Although it may be intimidating to start cooking if you're a beginner in the kitchen, Mariko has few tips for keeping it fun. "Meal kits are a really perfect way for the beginner cook to get familiar with the kitchen. They're really convenient, everything is kind of written out for you, with step-by-step instructions. It's delivered straight to your door. All the ingredients are either pre-made or pre-chopped and perfectly portioned, and it takes a lot of the pressure off if you are just starting to learn," she says.

Mariko recently partnered with Green Chef to create eight of her own farm-fresh meal kits so you can enjoy her recipes in the comfort of your home without the hassle of grocery shopping. "My favorite one is the sockeye salmon with a sweet heat pan sauce. If you're like me and you love a savory sweet combo, I think you're going to really like that one," she says.

A few other culinary tips? Mariko recommends doubling up recipes so you'll have leftovers for lunch, and perhaps even dinner the next day. Also, whenever you find yourself chopping onions next, wear contacts to prevent the dreaded tears, if you have them.

When she's not whipping up recipes in the kitchen, Mariko loves to browse her local farmer's market. She recommends investing in fish and seafood, fresh fruits, especially ones in season, and anything unique that you can't easily find in your grocery store. "For me in particular, it's these purple Japanese sweet potatoes, and I get them from a Japanese stand at my farmer's market, and I can't find them anywhere else," she says.

Beyond her top farmer's market picks, Mariko shared her current favorite products with us ahead, including her go-to Diptyque scent and her favorite water brand.

Mariko does not go a day without her trusted lip balm, the Aquaphor Lip Repair Ointment ($5). "It's a comfort thing. I've repurchased since I was 12 years old, and it's just the one product that's stayed consistent in my beauty routine for years," she says.

The sensitive skin-friendly lip balm contains conditioning ingredients like shea butter; vitamins C, E, and B5; and calming chamomile essence. It also leaves a subtle glossy finish for a healthier-looking lip.

Pro Tip: Mariko mainly uses it on her lips, but she also uses it around her nose when she has a cold or on a dry patch around her eyes.

"I drink a lot of water, and I've tried a lot of water. I've tried electrolyte water and pH water, and my favorite is spring water because you get the natural minerals every time you drink it," Mariko says. The Mountain Valley Spring Water (12 Pack) ($29) is her favorite taste-wise, and she loves that it comes in a glass bottle. It's naturally found in a spring in Ouachita and filtered through granite-based aquifers. It's rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium.

Pro Tip: You can order this water for home delivery in 2.5-5 gallons glass jugs, along with dispensers. You can even set up a recurring schedule for a full-service delivery.

Mariko loves Diptyque fragrances and prefers summery scents that are either sweet or boast a breezy vibe reminiscent of the ocean. Her current favorite scent for the morning is the Diptyque Oyedo Eau de Toilette ($180).

"This one is supposed to be yuzu, but to me, it smells like grape candy. It's really energizing and sweet, and it puts a smile on my face every time I spray it," she says. Other than yuzu, it has notes of green tangerine, thyme, and raspberry. "I find it very energizing, and it's a good morning fragrance versus a date night fragrance or something more calming at night. It'll get you up out of bed and get you ready for the day."

Pro Tip: To make fragrances last longer, apply it on your pulse points and moisturize those areas.

Mariko loves the comforting and soft feel of her Serena & Lily Positano Linen Sheet Set ($298, originally $398). "I really love the texture of linen. Sometimes, linen can be a little crunchy, but these sheets I found get softer and softer with every wash," she says.

These durable linen sheets are made from flax, and they're also thermoregulating. She points out that linen sheets can be a hit or a miss but notes that the ones from Serena & Lily do not shed and get better over time. The sheets come in two colors, white and sky blue, in sizes ranging from twin to California king.

Pro Tip: It's best to machine wash these sheets in a cold, gentle cycle and tumble dry on low.

Emily Mariko's Travel Must Have

Mariko depends on her Tumi International Expandable 4 Wheeled Carry-On ($750) for all her travel needs, including fitting about a week's worth of clothes.

"This is the first suitcase that I've found with this interesting closing mechanism. It has two buckles or clasps that close the two halves together instead of a zipper, and that makes a huge difference in terms of how much you can stuff this thing," she says. This suitcase also features a zipper expansion, four spinner wheels, and a built-in USB port.

Pro Tip: Mariko loves traveling with compression socks to make her journey more comfortable.
