The 2009 Glamour Women of the Year awards in NYC celebrated the industry's most powerful women. Rihanna went for high drama, but Stella McCartney played it nonchalantly cool. The designer walked the red carpet in a look from her Resort line: a purple silk frock, a cropped black collarless jacket, and black pumps.

Lucky Magazine and Madewell's Fall Denim Tour was the place to be last night. Celebs mixed and mingled, all of them looking super cute. But the real standout was mixmaster Rachel Bilson.

Most of my Fall shopping is complete, but Madewell has convinced me there's always room for a little more. Its look book is filled with cozy cool options offering up rail-straight cords — my favorite is this soft blush hue — sweet sweaters, polished coats, and awesome boots. This heather oatmeal funnel scarf will surely come in handy for chilly mornings and I know I'd wear this green parka to death.

The outcome is a genius mix of chunky knits, lumberjack tops, Parisian-inspired prints, and a ton of denim.

We already got a sneak peek at J.Crew's Fall collection and now it's Madewell's turn. The more affordable sister line's Fall collection draws inspiration from New York City’s galleries and architecture.
The preview reveals sketch-print tees inspired by an artist’s notebook, brushstroke-print dresses, and grey denim that represents the concrete found throughout the city.

J. Crew's lesser-known and more affordable sister, Madewell, now has its own website, Madewell1937.com. There is no e-commerce yet, but the goods featured include a pretty jeweled necklace, a Fab plaid scarf, and a cute wool beret.

Joy's got the necklace mix down. It's so easy, and it elevates her simple look. It's also a sweet way to show off your sentimental style.
