By now you know Coach for its classic leather goods and bags (and likely count one or two in your own stable), but are you aware that the brand's clothing offerings kind of, well, rock? From practical outerwear to cozy sweaters, the brand has covered quite the gamut. And before you buy, take a look at the styled Winter looks on the brand's site — including one that looks pretty similar to something we spotted on Karlie Kloss earlier. Expect ideas perfect for work or a cocktail shindig. We're sharing some of our favorites here.
Sporty-leaning Jessica Biel indulged her tomboy side at last night's Los Angeles premiere of The Truth About Emanuel, topping off her skirt-and-top combo with the ultimate cool-girl staple: a leather jacket (hers was by AllSaints). Her cropped black top hit an inch or so above the waistband of her knee-length skirt, flashing a Winter-appropriate amount of skin, and the jacket ensured her outfit still had the athletic vibe she's always endorsed — though she skipped sneakers in favor of lacy black and white pumps.
But don't fool yourself into thinking a tomboy can't appreciate some good old-fashioned bling. On full display were Jessica's enormous engagement ring and smaller diamond band, as well as supersparkly bracelets by Tiffany & Co.— complimented by a pair of earrings also by the jewelry company. Love the look? Shop it here (well, minus the diamonds).
When the holiday party circuit gets into full swing, there's a good chance you won't be able to stomach looking at another cocktail dress. The ubiquitous piece is chic and easy to style, sure, but it feels a bit . . . predictable, no? Liv Tyler stepped out at a book party for Modern Manners in a Stella McCartney printed sweater paired with a black knee-length skirt. She finished it off with loafer-like pumps and a black and white bag. In case you're already feeling the early stages of dressing brain, we've shopped out the look for you.
The camel coat, a fashion editor favorite, can look surprisingly different depending on what it's paired with. We'd always assumed we preferred it with a grounding, dark, black outfit à la Zoe Saldana, but then Jennifer Lawrence had to go mess with our heads by stepping out with hers worn over a white dress. When you have the chance to view them side by side, does one jump out as the clear winner?
The piece: Joe Fresh Cape
The price: $229
Why we want it: As a fashion editor, it's a perk of the job to be able to go to fashion shows and see amazing looks walk down the runway. But, and humor me here, sometimes it's frustrating to know that I'm never going to wear those clothes — either because one piece alone will cost twice my monthly rent or because, as often happens, it just doesn't make it from the catwalk to production. That's why I'm pretty obsessed with the Joe Fresh Fresh Off the Runway collection, which invariably always lets runway creations see the light of day. I first spotted this chic black cape at the brand's Fall 2013 show, and lo and behold, here it is: in stores and in my budget!
Sandra Bullock could've been exhausted, jet-lagged, or suffering from the flu when arriving at a Tokyo airport — you never would've known it thanks to her simple but pulled-together travel outfit. She went with flared, raw-hem jeans and a black, belted Calvin Klein Collection coat that completely made the outfit. If you're still shopping for the perfect Winter topper to work at the office and on the weekend, then consider this style. Elegant and timeless, it's flattering to wear and will have a spot in your closet for decades. Hitting the airport soon? We've assembled similar options here.
We're not about to let a little snow or ice stand in the way of a good outfit. That doesn't mean going bare-legged or refusing to bundle up (we want to look stylish, not clueless), but we refuse to wear a sleeping bag masquerading as a coat.
Clearly, this street styled crew knows the feeling — showing off a set of Winter-ready outfits that don't include oversize puffers or snow pants. Instead, their looks inspire a sleek, pulled-together standard for your cold-weather looks, because a little inclement weather should never stand in the way of a great outfit. Something about plaid flannel feels seasonally appropriate right about now — and it doesn't hurt that it adds another helpful layer to combat the Winter chill. The button-down is one of the most democratic pieces in the fashion sphere, working on every type of girl, in every type of closet. Dress it up or dress it down — either way, you'll be looking good. Zara's latest and aptly named "In the Evening" lookbook isn't just a glimpse of what's new — it's a lesson in holiday dressing strategy. In it you'll find not more than a handful of pieces, few colors, and just a hint of shine, but page after page of the newest looks never get tired. If you subscribe to the more minimalist holiday dress code, this is clearly for you.
But even if you're typically the bells and whistles type, it's hard to resist the more subtle allure of a sheer crop top, a smattering of cool sequins, and yes, even jeans. Suffice it to say, this is exactly what we want to look like at all of our holiday soirees. You too? Just click through for more outfit ideas — and plenty to shop!
Who says you can't look fashionable in Winter?
As Fall is almost over, everybody is already starting to prep for the harsh, knife-stabbing-like cold weather! How do you stay stylish and still be protected from the freezing cold?
The solution is actually quite simple: your mohair sweaters. They will surely keep you warm and still look fabulous! H&M has all the colors you need, be it the most basic or the brightest. I just love how you can easily match them with almost anything.
For my first look, I decided to match my favorite H&M leather pants with my Capri blue mohair sweater. The look is very laid-back and effortless, making it very chic and elegant. It is cinched with my black pointed pumps from Zara.
You can never go wrong with a dark sapphire blue mohair sweater dress! It gives you that subtle, sexy vibe. At the same time, it is quite comfortable, not to mention wearable both at work and on the streets!
And let's not forget my black mohair sweater and my glossy patent skirt from Monki. I just love how the skirt makes the entire outfit edgy yet understated! The look is complemented with my H&M ankle booties.
