Many of tonight's red carpet trekkers took the slitty road. As in, their gorgeous gowns were hemmed with slits. High, low, demure, sexy, front, side — we saw it all. This year at the Oscars, we spotted some of Hollywood's finest looking pretty in pink and purple. We love how Queen Latifah looked exquisite in a jewel-encrusted light purple frock; Vera Farmiga stunned in a bright fuchsia gown by Marchesa; and Jennifer Lopez shined in a light pink confection by Armani Prive. It's all very girlie with a glamorous touch. Keep on to see more pink and purple hues!
Whether it was Mo'Nique taking a page out of Billie Holiday's book with white roses in her hair, Nicole Richie looking perfectly mod, or Diane Kruger accenting her Andrews Sisters-esque hair with a delicate barrette, retro updos were all over the Oscars red carpet. Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Amanda Seyfried also went vintage when it came to their hair, and with this many stars following the trend, it's a sure bet that throwback hair wasn't just a fluke. Are you excited for a 2010 full of modern takes on old-fashioned hairstyles, or will you be leaving this trend in the history books?
