2011 Spring London Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey amazes with Burberry Prorsum's Spring '11, balancing neon-injected separates, sheers, and leather into a single, cohesive, cool collection.

Christopher Bailey amazes with Burberry Prorsum's Spring '11, balancing neon-injected separates, sheers, and leather into a single, cohesive, cool collection. Each piece making its way down the runway has the feel of a must-have, trend-making piece — the silky neon shift could become a Spring closet staple, layered under a slick leather jacket or paired over leather pants. Meanwhile, classics are reinterpreted: the simple trench gets an update via studs, colored belts, animal print, and leather sleeves. Then he delivers metallics, curve-hugging pants, and intricately ruffled cocktail dresses — a line with so much luxurious texture, color, and delicate finish, but still focused. A result that speaks to the modern, super-sexy girl — with a serious wild side.
