>> The SAG Awards may have provided the lion's share of red-carpet glamour, but a bevy of other occasions offered some of the week's more intriguing style moments. In Sydney, Naomi Watts, Nikki Phillips, and Rachael Taylor rode the season's scuba trend in ensembles tinged with surf-sport details. In Los Angeles, Tilda Swinton hosted the Pomellato boutique opening in an ivory silk pajama look from Lanvin, while Jayma Mays, Emmy Rossum, and Jacqueline Emerson all looked Valentine-chic in coordinating red-and-white prints at an event for Lucky magazine. Those looks — and more — here, in our best-of-the-week slideshow.
For sports fanatics, there's only one thing on the mind this weekend: Super Bowl Sunday. I, admittedly, am not one of those people, but I do love going along for the ride to feed off the crazy fun energy (and yummy food!). But before the festivities begin, there's still tonight and all day Saturday. So let this week's best-dressed celebs — including Jennifer Lopez, Jayma Mays, Lauren Conrad, and Olivia Palermo — inspire your weekend wear. You don't have to necessarily mimic head-to-toe, but let a few of your favorite pieces encourage you to create some fun outfits this weekend. Can you guess which star will inspire your Sunday wardrobe? Step inside to find out.
Just like love at first sight, there are some outfits that make your heart beat faster immediately after you lay eyes on them. That's exactly what happened when we beheld what Glee's Jayma Mays wore to a Lucky magazine soiree in LA. Where do we start? First, the Alice + Olivia red tweed jacket; it feeds into the tweed-jacket craze, but because it's red, it's less stuffy and more sassy. Instead of pairing it with, say, black pants, Jayma opted to jazz things up even more with a pair of bright blue silk pants. And we applaud her for that bravery. Her Brian Atwood lace cutout booties and sparkly envelope clutch add further pizazz to her cool-chic ensemble, which also includes an Alternative Apparel tee. Next time you hit the party circuit in your city, consider mimicking Jayma's electric ensemble. And if you're in the market for a fabulous tweed jacket, this one is it.
Glee's Jayma Mays sparkled in a dark, floor-skimming Reem Acra gown. Aside from the sequin-and-shine factor, the back of the dress featured a black lacy cutout that was equal parts sweet and sexy. She finished her SAGs look off with a high ponytail, smoky kohl-lined eyes, and elegant white drop earrings. What do you think of this embellished ensemble?

Nicole Richie and Diane Kruger both went with black, but mixed it up with sheer panels and hot cutouts at the 2011 UNICEF ball at the Beverly Wilshire last night in LA. This weekend is a big one for Nicole, since she and Joel Madden will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary — check out Nicole's and Joel's cutest pictures through the years. Brooklyn Decker was sporting a glow, fresh from her Bahamas vacation with husband Andy Roddick last weekend. The model-turned-actress is also looking gorgeous in the first trailer for What to Expect When You're Expecting. Diane Kruger had her own tropical vacation recently: she spent Thanksgiving lounging in retro bikinis alongside hot boyfriend Joshua Jackson.
A-list actresses, including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Michelle Pfeiffer, stepped out to celebrate a few of the industry's favorite leading ladies for Elle's 18th Annual Women in Hollywood event. We got a chance to chat with Elizabeth Olsen, who received this year's Emerging Star award. The up-and-coming actress revealed that she doesn't consult her fashionable sisters on her red carpet ensembles. Plus, Glee's Jayma Mays and Donna Karan share their Fall must haves — it's all in today's Fab Flash! On Allison: Kate Spade

When it comes to quintessentially feminine dressing, the little lace dress is nearly unmatched in its ability to be both girly and sultry. The proof is in this celebrity lookbook, and the slew of lace variations worn by our favorite style setters. From sophisticated, lace-trimmed gowns, like Olivia Wilde's, to the flirtier side of things, like the colorful little lace dresses on Jayma Mays and Malin Akerman, there are more than a few ways to outfit the super-femme fabric. Glee cutie Jayma Mays looks like a modern, flame-haired update of '80s classic Peaches 'n' Cream Barbie. Instead of a corset bodice, her gown has a transparent bateau neckline with cap sleeves, and the color is a touch more pink than peach, but otherwise the ensemble and hairstyle are very much the same. In contrast to the softness of her Zuhair Murad dress (and Brian Atwood shoes), she's wearing fuchsia statement lipstick that really pops against her ginger hair and rosy complexion. Diane Kruger rocked a shorts suit last night for a party thrown by InStyle. The bash, held inside West Hollywood's London Hotel, brought out other starlets like Jaime King, Lea Michele, and Jordana Brewster. Diane's ensemble was from her pal Jason Wu's resort collection — see what the other celebs wore to InStyle's Summer soirée. Diane had a night with her lady friends after a few fun outings with her main man, Joshua Jackson. They had a sweet day date last week checking out Captain America, as both Josh and Diane gear up for the return of his show Fringe on Sept. 23.
If your dress is white, you may automatically reach for a white or nude shoe to pair it with, but before you do, take a look at Jayma Mays's red carpet style. She went for an element of surprise with each of her LWD outfits this past weekend, opting for bold shoes instead of something more subtle. For the Glee 3D Concert movie premiere, Jayma wore an ethereal, ivory J. Mendel dress that would be pretty enough for a beach wedding, but toughened it up with strappy black platform heels. At a Fox All-Star party, Jayma chose a fitted, short-sleeve Pamella Roland sheath dress that would have been perfect for a weekend brunch if paired with nude flats. Instead, she made it party ready with Brian Atwood Maniac calf-hair pumps ($735) in shocking hot pink. We love her style choices here; will you give them a try?
