The star-studded action at the Venice Film Festival continued over the weekend with Michael Fassbender stepping back into the spotlight Sunday for a Shame photo call alongside director Steve McQueen. Michael, who was before the cameras last week showing of Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, changed out of his jeans and flip-flops to hit the red carpet for a premiere that night. James Franco was also busy that afternoon doing press for his movie Sal with costar Val Lauren. Yesterday, Selma Blair showed her postbaby body at a photo call, where she wore a green number from Roland Mouret and premiere for Dark Horse. Colin Firth lent his glamour to the proceedings at events for Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy, and his wife Livia was on hand for a special screening. Livia blogged about the evening for Vogue UK, saying she was more nervous than usual since she wore a dress of her own design. There's more action to come from Italy this week, as the festival continues until Friday.
Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning in a backless Prada gown and Bulgari earrings on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival today. She was on hand for the premiere of Contagion after promoting the movie in an orange dress, also by Prada, at a photo call this morning. Gwyneth had costars Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, and Jennifer Ehle by her side for the event before the whole cast got glamorous for this evening's red carpet. Gwyneth stuck close to Matt and his wife, Luciana, on her way into the screening and showed off her goofy side by giving Matt bunny ears for the cameras.
Matt Damon changed into a suit for the premiere of Contagion in Venice this afternoon. His wife, Luciana, was by his side for the red carpet event and sparkled in a gold gown. Matt had his other leading lady, Gwyneth Paltrow, there for this morning's Contagion photo call at the Venice Film Festival, where they were joined by director Steven Soderbergh and costars Jennifer Ehle and Laurence Fishburne. Matt will be on the go again soon, since he'll be showing off the movie at the NYC premiere next week. Gwyneth, though, isn't expected to attend the Big Apple event.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Damon joined director Steven Soderbergh today at the Venice Film Festival. Along with their costars Jennifer Ehle and Laurence Fishburne, they posed for photos at a press event for Contagion. Matt, still sporting the shaved head he needs to shoot Elysium, was in LA recently for the movie's junket — Matt shared his nickname "Red Alert" and spoke about working with Steven and Gwyneth. Gwyneth, meanwhile, added to the festival's glamour in a bright Prada dress. She rose early for the photo call after recently getting engrossed in a new TV show. She tweeted yesterday, "Just finished AMC's The Killing. Devastation! Any suggestions for a new series to get into?" Steven and Matt will team up later this week in NYC for their US premiere; though, Gwyneth isn't expected to join in on the Big Apple fun. However, Matt will have another leading lady from their star-studded cast for company on the red carpet, since Marion Cotillard will attend.
