Through online systems like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, stars are campaigning and asking fans to make donations toward their personal creative projects via the Internet. Today, James Franco launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund three individual films based on his book Palo Alto, a series of short stories about his hometown.

He joins the ranks of other celebrities who have turned to such platforms, including Kristen Bell, who raked in a record-breaking $5.7 million for her Kickstarter campaign for the Veronica Mars movie, which she has already started filming. Zach Braff followed suit, crediting Kristen's success for his decision to utilize the site for his latest film project, Wish I Was Here. Julianne Moore and Alexander Skarsgard looked like one happy family when they premiered their new film, What Maisie Knew, in NYC last night alongside their young costar Onata Aprile. In the film, which is based on the novel by Henry James, Julianne and Alexander play husband and wife, but their relationship quickly goes sour as Julianne's rock-chick character begins to pawn off her daughter on Alexander and her ex-husband's new wife. Small-screen stars like Girls' Zosia Mamet and Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also dropped by the screening to show support for their fellow HBO star Alexander.

Lena Dunham got colorful to shoot a scene for the third season of her hit show, Girls, in NYC today. She wore a dress and a trucker hat that read "Birthday B*tch" as she chatted on her phone outside a building. Yesterday, Lena, Allison Williams, and the rest of the Girls cast bundled up to shoot in the city. Lena squeezed in the day of work ahead of her appearance at the Time 100 gala last night. She was named one of the magazine's most influential people of the year and celebrated by kissing Claire Danes on the red carpet and joking around with Christina Aguilera and Amy Poehler at the bash.

Lena isn't the only Girls star who has been making headlines over the past few weeks. Jemima Kirke found herself in the news after she was photographed kissing jewelry designer Pamela Love in an ad for NYC-based bridal store Stone Fox Bride.

Rosario Dawson met up with ex-boyfriend Danny Boyle to premiere their new film, Trance, in NYC last night. She was joined by her costar Vincent Cassel as she joked around on the red carpet while wearing a stunning Bottega Veneta pink dress. Later, Rosario, Danny, and Vincent headed to the premiere's afterparty where the actress celebrated the arrival of a pizza delivery by cheering for joy. The cast weren't the only stars who attended the event, with The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus arriving on the arm of Debbie Harry, and Girls stars Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet catching a screening of the new flick.

The premiere comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Rosario and Danny had broken up, although it isn't clear how long the couple had been dating. The two were last seen together when Rosario donned a bikini during a vacation in Barbados back in January. There are rumors that Rosario is moving on with Michael Fassbender after the two were spotted together in London over the weekend.

The fun continued last night as stars celebrated the 70th Annual Golden Globes with HBO's official afterparty at Circa 55 restaurant in the Beverly Hilton. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban showed love during the bash, while Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham hung out with Judd Apatow inside. Presenter Robert Pattinson and best actress winner Julianne Moore worked the room and Mad Men's Jon Hamm shared a moment with Zosia Mamet from Girls.

The hotel also played host to several other afterparties, including celebrations thrown by NBC, InStyle, and The Weinstein Company. Celebrities like Joe Manganiello and Ewan McGregor were among the party-hoppers that visited more than one event throughout the evening.

Lena Dunham and Allison Williams were joined by their castmates and quite a few celebrity friends when they premiered the second season of Girls in NYC last night. Lena wore a strapless Valentino jumpsuit while Allison wore an Altuzarra ensemble. Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke, who gave birth to her second child seven weeks ago, hammed it up with their costars on the red carpet while the men of Girls — Adam Driver, Christopher Abbott, Andrew Rannells, and Alex Karpovsky — took photos together. Solange Knowles also attended the event along with HBO stars like Michael K. Williams and Steve Buscemi.

The cast and Lena in particular have been in the press quite a bit lately as they promote the new season of their hit series. Lena recently opened up about her awkward teenage years, saying she didn't have any friends and was a "chubby teenager." Despite her pre-Girls troubles, Lena is enjoying the success of her HBO show, including a nomination at Sunday's Golden Globes — make sure to fill out a Golden Globes ballot for the chance to win $1,500 and an iPad mini!

Leonardo DiCaprio debuted Django Unchained in NYC last night. Leo was joined by his costars Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as director Quentin Tarantino, on the red carpet. Leo, who is currently filming The Wolf of Wall Street, also celebrated alongside pals Olivia Wilde, John Legend, Liv Tyler, and Cameron Diaz. Leo and Cameron have been seeing a lot of each other lately, as they were spotted celebrating for charity in NYC back in November.

Django's premiere came just ahead of today's SAG nominations. Despite all the award season buzz around the film, it received zero nominations. Nonetheless, early reviews for Django Unchained are excellent. Audiences will get to see Quentin's latest for themselves when it arrives in theaters on Christmas day, Dec. 25.
